“Over alt” draws inspiration from ParkLIFE themes of: ‘’CHANGE THROUGH INNOVATION’’, “FUTURE CHANGE’’ and ‘’CUSTOMER CENTRICITY’. In this architecturally geometric composition, sections and parts call forth solar power, technology and the communication of the seemingly untouchable, unfathomable side of what goes into logistics – the interconnection that utilizes space as a vehicle for communication by and for organizations. This is contrasted with solid sections representing the hardware of transportation, or the “container” surrounding those day to day logistics operations. Etnik’s choice of bringing a solar element into his piece and depicted here in various forms, represents a nod to the building used as his canvass: It’s a symbol of Prologis’s commitment to bringing to life projects that are more and more sustainable.EtnikAt this point, we are midway along our journey of discovery of our open-air art gallery conceived for the Prologis Park Romentino. This work, called “Over Alt,” was created by the street artist, Etnik. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Etnik lives and works in Turin. Etnik arrived on the graffiti writing scene back in the early 1990s. He always strove to find a new way of surpassing the more classical constraints imposed by the art form, ultimately taking a whole new approach to art murals. He would later devise and organize events that brought him in contact with the leading artists across the European urban art panorama. But starting in 2001, his painting technique began to evolve into decidedly geometric and architectural forms, starting with lettering – that became the foundation of his work – and upon which the entire conceptual and compositional plan of his artistic research is based. The transformation of the letters making up his name in geometric solids are the springboard off which he constructs architectural modules that violently intersect from opposite planes and scattered viewpoints to represent the ever more constrained cement and the ever more precariousness of our daily lives.
