“Identity” is a work by the urban artist Hemo, curator of our open-air art gallery. In his vision for “Identity,” Hemo chose to highlight some of the words most closely linked to cultural and ethical transformation, while keeping to the Prologis vision set forth in practice as hallmarks of their industry: CULTURE & TALENT, MENTORSHIP, PASSION, FUTURE CHANGE, COMMITMENT. Immensely rich and powerful terms that inspire noble endeavors at the utmost ethical and cultural levels. The artwork in its entirety represents a moment infused with pure energy and power. It’s a dynamic image that gives off quite a strong vibration. Infused with intense and lively colors, it serves as a truly inspirational beacon casting its bright light on future horizons. The work depicts what amounts to an exaltation of emotions and fervor, made up of letters and arrows – symbolizing both movement and culture – here employed as an esthetic and conceptual expression serving to highlight those emotions and tensions which permeate the work. An extremely gestural artist, Hemo prepares his urban artworks by first crafting preliminary drawings which then allow him to freely approach the final work almost instinctually, while adding that pathos that physical painting calls for. Here at Romentino, we find ourselves in front of a truly impactful piece, one infused with a tangible vivacity that elicits an immediate reaction in the viewer, demanding their full attention and allowing them to see within it, the details and harmonies which come together on the building ‘canvass’.HemoEnrico ‘Hemo’ Sironi has been a fixture of the Italian artistic scene since the mid-1990s, when right from the start, he achieved notoriety for his particular approach of mixing organic forms with writing. The turn of the millennium brought the artist to participate in a number of art events which served to build the foundation for his renown as an esthete with a bent toward the power of collective art. Starting in the early 2000s, Hemo played an active role on some of the most important graffiti art scenes, organizing his own events and street art exhibitions as well. He would be later selected as Director of the urban renewal project at Genoa’s Nervi Porto Antico area. Hemo continues organizing urban art shows in historic town centers and is active in reclaiming public spaces both in his home town and across the boot. He divides his time between working as a senior marketing manager at IVS Group while pursuing his artistic expression in enlivening urban spaces. As Creative Director for the Prologis artistic program, Hemo gave himself the mission of creating a space that would show off Urban Art to the fullest while at the same time, showcasing Italian talent and their ability to express their particular art forms within the framework of the Prologis logistics park.
