Welcome to “People” by Enrico ‘Hemo’ Sironi, a vibrant and colorful journey through humanity, seen through the eyes of one of the most renowned street artists on the Italian scene.

Hemo has been a standout figure since the mid-1990s, and his unique approach, which blends graffiti writing with organic shapes, has made his style instantly recognizable. Over the years, he has participated in major artistic events, helping shape the aesthetic of street art in Italy and influencing the collective taste we see today. Since the 2000s, Hemo has left his mark on the biggest graffiti festivals, curated street art events and exhibitions, and led urban revitalization projects, such as the transformation of the Porto Antico in the city of Genova.

Not just an artist, Hemo is also the artistic director for the urban art projects promoted by Prologis in their logistics parks in Lodi, Romentino, and here in Bologna.

The work you see before you, “People,” is born from two key concepts: teamwork and nature. Here, Hemo invites us to reflect on the human condition, but in a unique way, using birds as a metaphor. Birds, symbols of transformation and change, become the vehicle through which he expresses the emotions and expressions that define humanity. He humanizes these birds, giving them distinctly human traits and attitudes: joy, sadness, surprise, reflection.

On this container, Hemo has painted over a hundred faces—or rather, birds—each with its own expression, offering an incredible cross-section of humanity. It’s a vibrant, sunlit work that captures life in all its shades, with a style that blends realism and irony. Notice how some birds are depicted more clearly, while others are more blurred, just like people—each one unique, with their own individuality and sense of being.

Hemo’s talent lies in making the depth of our being visible through seemingly simple and light-hearted figures. Each brushstroke, each expression, speaks to us about life’s complexity and the individuality that makes us all unique.

“People” is an explosion of colors and emotions, inviting us to pause for a moment and reflect on who we are, how we live, and how we connect with the world around us.
